One Raspberry Pi, doing one job well. The rest is a list of what comes next, not a list of what I own.
Running now
- Raspberry Pi 4 — running Ubuntu Server. The whole lab, for now, and where anything I want to understand gets tested first.
- Tailscale — the Pi is my exit node, so my traffic leaves from home wherever I happen to be.
Tried and moved on
- CasaOS — got everything running in an afternoon. That turned out to be the problem: I wanted to know what it was doing for me.
Next up
- Prometheus + Grafana — metrics for the Pi first, the rest of the network after.
- NetBox — a source of truth reads differently once you have run one yourself.
- WireGuard — Tailscale already speaks it; I want to configure it by hand at least once.
- Pi-hole / AdGuard Home — DNS filtering, and a reason to look at what the network actually asks for.
